I. The account
By creating an account you agree to use re-book for personal reading subscriptions, provide accurate delivery details, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. re-book is intended for consumers aged 18 or over, or for minors with a parent or guardian’s consent where local law requires it.
II. Subscriptions & renewals
Subscriptions renew according to the plan you choose at checkout until you cancel. You can manage or cancel your plan from your account settings while it is active. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period, unless a longer right applies by law.
Cancelling a subscription is separate from your statutory right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) described below. If you cancel after the withdrawal period, you keep access and any books already included for that paid period, but you are not entitled to a pro-rata refund of that period solely because you cancelled, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
III. Prices & payment
Prices shown at checkout include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise. You pay the total price for the selected plan, including any stated delivery charges, when the order is confirmed. Payment is processed by our payment provider. By completing checkout you authorise recurring charges for your plan until you cancel or the subscription ends.
If a payment fails, we may retry according to our provider’s rules and may suspend deliveries or end the subscription if payment remains outstanding. You will receive confirmation of your purchase by email.
IV. Deliveries
Physical book deliveries depend on stock, address accuracy, and fulfilment timing. We aim to dispatch books according to the schedule of your plan. Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to you when you (or a person you designate) take physical possession of the books, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
If a title becomes unavailable, we will substitute the closest match in your journey or adjust your schedule. If a parcel is damaged or never arrives, contact support and we will arrange a replacement or another suitable remedy.
V. Right of withdrawal (EU / EEA)
If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area and conclude a distance contract with us, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving any reason, under the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and national implementing laws.
For a subscription that includes regular delivery of books, the withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you receive the first book under that contract. For the service elements of your subscription (account access and curation), the period runs from the day the contract is concluded.
To meet the deadline it is enough that you send your withdrawal notice before the 14 days expire. You may withdraw by a clear statement emailed to support@re-book.app or via our contact page. You may also use the model withdrawal form set out in EU consumer law; a model text is available on request.
VI. Exceptions to withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the limited cases set out in Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU, including where goods are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised; where sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons were unsealed after delivery (this does not generally apply to books); or where digital content not supplied on a tangible medium is supplied after you gave prior express consent to begin performance and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal.
Ordinary curated selection from our catalogue is not treated as personalised custom-made goods for this purpose. If you handle books beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning during the withdrawal period, we may deduct an amount for diminished value from any refund.
VII. Returns & refunds
If you withdraw, you must return any books already received without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of telling us you withdraw, unless we offer to collect them. You bear the direct cost of returning the books, unless we failed to inform you of that cost or we agree otherwise. Return books in a condition that allows us to resell them where reasonably possible; keep packaging if you can.
We will reimburse all payments received from you for the withdrawn contract, including standard delivery costs (but not supplementary costs if you chose a more expensive delivery type than the least expensive standard option we offered), without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days of the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the books back or you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier. Refunds are made using the same means of payment you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise; you will not incur fees as a result of the reimbursement.
VIII. Legal guarantee of conformity
As a consumer in the EU or EEA you benefit from a statutory guarantee that goods conform to the contract. Under the Sale of Goods Directive (EU) 2019/771 and national law, you are generally entitled to remedies for lack of conformity that becomes apparent within two years of delivery (a longer period may apply in some countries).
If a book arrives damaged, defective, or otherwise not as described, contact support promptly. You may be entitled to repair or replacement, a price reduction, or termination of the relevant part of the contract and a refund, in line with mandatory consumer law. These rights are in addition to your right of withdrawal and any commercial goodwill we offer.
IX. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the product matures. We will post the revised version on this page and update the revision date. For material changes that affect paid subscriptions, we will give reasonable notice where required by law. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the revised terms, except that you keep any non-waivable rights under mandatory consumer law.
X. Privacy, complaints & applicable law
For privacy-related questions, see our data privacy page. For support, complaints about an order, or to exercise your rights, email support@re-book.app or use our contact page. We aim to reply within two working days.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow such a limit (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). If you are an EU/EEA consumer, you enjoy the mandatory consumer protections of the law of your country of residence. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence. You may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr or a certified alternative dispute resolution body where available.
