About this book
Aliens destroy every building on Earth and turn the ruins into an intergalactic game show: an eighteen-level dungeon full of monsters, traps and loot, broadcast across the galaxy. Carl, a former Coast Guard mechanic, is out in his boxer shorts chasing his ex-girlfriend's prize-winning cat, Princess Donut, when it happens. Now the two of them have to level up, choose classes and work out the dungeon's strange rules to survive, while also playing up to the cameras. The novel combines video-game mechanics with sharp satire and a lot of over-the-top comedy. Underneath all that is a growing friendship between a stubborn man and a very vain cat.
