About this book
Tom Barren lives in the 2016 people once imagined: flying cars, food from machines and endless clean energy, all thanks to an invention from 1965. Tom is also a bit of a failure, drifting through life in his brilliant father's shadow. Then one rash decision with an experimental time machine goes badly wrong, and he lands in a world that feels like a strange, cluttered downgrade. It is our own present. Here his family, his work and his chances at love look completely different, and he starts to wonder which version of his life he wants to keep. Told in a funny, self-mocking voice, it is a quick time-travel adventure that is also a love story.
