About this book
A woman wakes in a London park in the rain, surrounded by bodies wearing latex gloves, with no memory of who she is. Letters in her pocket say she is Myfanwy Thomas, a senior officer in the Checquy, a secret British organisation that deals with supernatural threats, and that someone inside it wants her dead. To find the traitor she has to pass as herself, using notes left by the woman she used to be. The novel moves between her uncertain present and those confiding letters, and mixes office politics, strange powers and paperwork. It is an inventive, funny adventure in an otherwise everyday modern Britain.
