What should I read next?

You already love reading. That was never the problem. The problem is that finding the right book - the one that suits you, now - has never had a real answer. Recommendation engines optimise for what keeps you scrolling. “Because you read X” is a similarity score, not a reading plan.

Everything else is manual: forum threads, end-of-year lists, a friend with good taste, hours of research for one obscure book that turns out to be perfect. It works, and it is exhausting.

So we built the thing that was missing - and made it a conversation, not a delivery. Every book we choose surfaces in your market first, with the reasoning attached. Nothing is posted to you that you have not seen and kept.

The idea

A Curation, not a list

We use the word for a specific thing: a journey of books chosen to be read together, in an order, built around one reader.

Chosen, not matched

A similarity score finds books like the last one. A Curation asks where you are going, then picks the books that take you there.

In an order that builds

Each book prepares you for the next - a difficult one after the one that earns it, something lighter when you have earned the rest.

It grows with you

The journey is not fixed at signup. What you love, skip and finish reshapes everything still ahead of it.

A short brief in your own words: books you have loved, how much time you actually have - not how much you wish you had - and what you want back from reading.

A Curation is drawn

Your brief becomes a journey: a sequence of books that belong together, each carrying a written reason it was chosen for you.

You confirm the book

Picks surface in your market first. Heart the ones that tempt you, pass on the ones that do not. Nothing ships that you have not seen.

It arrives on paper

A real book, posted to your door, with the note on why this one and why now. Then the map advances.

You said you wanted to read more slowly, and that you loved books where nothing is said directly. This is the most disciplined example of that in English - a narrator who cannot admit what the reader works out a chapter ahead of him. It is short, and it rewards the pace you asked for.

Why not just use Goodreads?

Keep it - we read from it. Goodreads remembers what you have read; we decide what you read next. A shelf of four hundred books is a record, and a bigger version of the same question.

Goodreads is where reading gets logged. It will not tell you which book to open on Sunday, or in what order five books should be read.

Every heart, every pass, every book you finish and every one you abandon feeds back into what comes next. Reading taste is not fixed, and a service that treats it as fixed stops being useful by the third parcel.

Which is why the market matters: passing on a book is not a failure of the system, it is the system working. You are teaching it the difference between what you admire and what you will actually read on a Tuesday night.

Why a setup fee?

Your first book ships within 3 days, before your monthly price has covered it. We are a small company and cannot extend credit, so the setup fee covers that first book. It is charged once, never on upgrades or renewals, and waived when you pay quarterly.

There is no universal list. Everyone's path through literature is personal, so we build one around you - and around the shops that still stock the books lists forget. Some of this is built; some of it is the reason we are building.

Built for the local bookshop

A decentralised network of readers and independent stores - an alternative to the corporatisation of literary art. Integration with smaller shops is where we want the sales to go.

A library, not only a shop

A return option, so a journey through re-book is cost-accessible for anyone who reads faster than they can buy.

Reviews from people who finished it

Public reviews come only from readers who bought and read the book - if they choose to share. The only place a review is a testimony, not a first impression.

The small print

Before you decide

You are never locked in

Pause, change tier, or cancel from settings. Cancelling stops future renewals and runs to the end of the period you have paid for.

If a book does not land

Say so. Feedback changes what comes next - a Curation that cannot be corrected is just a list someone else wrote.

If a parcel goes wrong

Damaged or lost parcels get replaced. If a title is unavailable we substitute the closest match in your journey, or adjust the schedule.

What we do with your data

Reading preferences, not personal history. We ask what you like to read - never anything sensitive, and never more than the Curation needs.

We also plant against what we print and ship with less packaging than we would like to admit was once normal - our environmental pledges.

Why this exists

re-book is built to help people fall in love with literature, nothing more, nothing less. My sole goal is to help people explore the great works by authors that are not represented in local, commercialised book stores.

That is the basis of my passion: to give light to the many exemplary works that are missing solely because there is not enough space on a physical book-shelf.

Built in Stockholm - it started as a way to find better books for friends, and grew when they kept asking for more.
